Profiling Jobseekers in Iloilo

The Iloilo Provincial Public Employment Service Office has three (3) core services, Labor Market Information, Referral and Placement, and Career Coaching and Employment Orientation. Its labor market information covers the skills database gathered from PESO clients. These skills database gathers jobseekers’ data such as name, date of birth, address, sex, religion, civil status, contact details, employment status, job preference, educational background, experience, etc. Currently, PPESO utilizes Electronic Manpower Skills and Registry System (e-MSRS)/ Electronic Company Registry and Employment Tracking System (eCRETS)/ Employment Facilitation and Protection System (EFPS) in maintaining all data gathered. As using three different systems in gathering data is exhausting the time of most of its personnel, PPESO has planned to develop the Iloilo Province Employment Portal System (IPEPS), a system that combines the features of all current systems used by PPESO into one.

The skills database gathered by PPESO systems are used to map the employed, unemployed, under employed individuals in the Province of Iloilo. As the pandemic caused many Ilonggos to lose their jobs, the PPESO plans to utilize the data it has gathered to potentially guide the clients to make decisions about their career and look for jobs that is aligned with their current skills. PPESO also plans to include profiles of all OFWs living in the province as many overseas workers were also affected during the pandemic and lead them to assistance offered by PPESO to OFWs.
